SHOZHÙ | Natural bamboo shot glasses
Shozhù shot glasses are a perfect way to reuse glasses during parties, or to sip expresso or tea from. Each glass hold roughly 2.5 ounces of liquid, coated with FDA approved epoxy and should be hand washed.
These sturdy glasses are very stylish and a great item to bring during picnics and parties! Show off your Shozhù!
Shozhù shot glasses were introduced through Scissor Guild when its owner started making a Bamboo bike frame in school. Using scraps from the bike, the shape just made sense to make a glass out of it.
We then decided to go through with the production of these awesome natural glasses. Through contacts, we established comunications with a bamboo farmer in Georgia, USA, where the bamboo grows! Instead of importing from across the continent, we opted to find local North American bamboo. Thomas then drove to Georgia to pick up the order and establish a connection with farmer Bob. Bob was kind enough to let him cut to length all the bamboo poles, and off back up North to process the poles.
The poles have been pressure washed and kiln dried before transport. Then they are cut to length followed by multiple steps of sanding right in Montreal city. After getting a smooth finish, they are branded and dipped twice in FDA compliant Epoxy for direct and indirect contact with foods and liquids.
These glasses reflect the mission Scissor Guild engages itself to be, a company using local and environmentally friendly. Bamboo is one of the best resources for building materials, they grow very quick, provide more oxygen than trees and could be potentially used in North American houses.
